The 34th edition of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS 2017), scheduled for July 27 to 31 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre and Hotel Lalit, is showcasing a wide array of gemstones and finished jewellery from more than 1,200 exhibitors.

IIJS 2017, which opens today, is housing a total of 2,200 booths, including a larger and more diversified gold section. Machinery and equipment manufacturers, meanwhile, are displaying their goods at Hotel Lalit Mumbai. More than 35,000 visitors are expected to attend the five-day event.

A highlight of this year’s edition was the “Prelude to IIJS 2017,” a B2B jewellery fashion show on July 26 that shone the spotlight on 15 jewellery manufacturers’ latest collections. Organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) in partnership with the Diamond Producers Association (DPA), the Prelude event also marked the official launch of DPA’s generic diamond promotion campaign for India.

Fashions show participants included Agarwal and Co, Alma by PGP, Anand Shah, Baheti Gems & Jewels Pvt Ltd, CVM Exports, Geeta Shyam Jewellers (Sunil Jewellers), Gitanjali, Kiran Jewels, Laxmi Jewellery, Palak Jewellers, Priority Jewels, Romil Jewelry, Sanskriti Jewels, Sheetal Manufacturing and Vasupati Jewellers.

The ‘Prelude to IIJS 2017’ B2B jewellery fashion showcase was supported by BVC Logistics as partner, Shilpi Jewellers and Royal Chains as co-partners, and the Gemological Institute of India (GII) as lab partner.

GJEPC Chairman Praveenshankar Pandya commented, “As the Indian gems and jewellery industry strives to reach new pinnacles of success, Prelude to IIJS 2017 gives retailers, wholesalers and distributors an opportunity to select exclusive jewellery designs precisely crafted with the best technical know-how.”
