GDGJE deals offer integrated services to jewellery sector

The Guangdong Gems & Jade Exchange (GDGJE) signed new agreements aimed at providing integrated services to the international gemstone and jewellery industry including educational trainings and knowledge sharing, among others.

GDGJE inked a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Goldsmiths and Jewellers Associations of Malaysia (FGJAM) and Mindat.org. 

Founded in 1976, the FGJAM represents 19 state-level goldsmiths and jewellers associations throughout Malaysia. Its aim is to foster links among goldsmiths and jewellers, regulate industry labour disputes, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the industry.

Through its partnership with FGJAM, GDGJE is further strengthening initiatives towards education training, knowledge sharing and market information exchange, to name a few, with the end in view of boosting trade relations between China and Malaysia.

Mindat.org, meanwhile, is a community-oriented global mineral online database. The Mindat project originated in 1993. Since October 2000, Mindat.org has been running with the aim of sharing knowledge and latest information on minerals. It is now the world's largest public database of mineral information.
The GDGJE partnership with Mindat.org aims to expand the exchange and sharing of mineral information, promote research and exploration on minerals and build an international cooperation platform of gem mineral standardisation and information services.

GDGJE also reached a cooperation with gemstone specialist Able Lapidary & Jewelry Ltd Co. The agreement on “Hong Kong colored gemstones Buyer-Seller Meets” aims to provide fast and efficient services in coloured gemstone supply and procurement, innovate foreign trade practices, and further cultivate growth of exports and imports through buyer-seller meets for gemstones.
